[NotD] Layering Gone Gonzo! - Attempt I

Freitag, November 04, 2011

Hi everyone :)

Today I just wanna show you a short NotD :)

This was the first attempt of layering OPI's Gone Gonzo! on a light blue color. I got the idea from Nails by Catharina :) But she did this design with OPI's Fresh Frog Of Bel Air.

When I saw the first nail tip swatches of the Muppet- Collection I wanted a few... when the first (bad!^^) swatches appeared... I want no single polish of the entire collection :D The glitter polishes looked like confetti glued on nails... Not pretty! :/

But then... I saw the swatches on Catharina (if I hadn't seen her swatches...I wouldnt have bought the glittery polishes :) ) and alizarine & cammi  (I hope this is right?!^^) blogs and I decided to get a few out of this collection (you can see which one in my recent Haul- Post ).

It does not look the way I wanted it to look like.... I'll have a second attempt :D

I started of with a base coat (Gel Coat by Perfect Formula).. then I applied two thin coats of Manhattan's 78D. Then I put on three layers of OPI's - Gone Gonzo!. Well.. at the end it should look a bit like french design but hmm... I didnt... or at least not how I wanted it...I finished with one layer Good to Go by Essie :)

And for me it's the wrong base color... I need a lighter blue color but I have none :D I love blue and I own a lot of blue polishes.. but I'm no sucker for light blue shades :D This is the only one I own.
The next time maybe I will take a white color. This would be the perfect winter nail design :) It will look like glitter and ice :)

xoxo
